Banquet Captain

Job Title: Banquet Captain

 

Job Summary: Oversees catered events within the hotel. Responsible for making sure all stations are set up properly prior to the event starting, assigns specific tasks or service to the team. Ensures all safety and sanitation codes are followed. During the event redirects the team if needed.

 

Job Duties:

  • Oversees all catered events within the hotel
  • Ensures all elements of the venue are ready before any guests arrive, including the dining tables, bar, food and beverages.
  • Monitors the activities of workers assigned and responds to questions, complaints, or comments that arise.
  • Provide personalized service to all guests in attendance for events.
  • Ensure cleanliness of china, glassware, and silverware
  • Maintain banquet room readiness
  • Perform uniform checks
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in storage areas including securing A/V equipment.
  • Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration within all departments.
  • Supervises and trains staff according to the hotel standards in set up and breakdown of events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Action oriented with a drive for results
  • Previous hotel experience in Banquet environment
  • Ability to stand long periods of time
  • Must be able to pull, push, lift at least 25 lbs.
